Garden Plain High School FFA students, Angelina Moyer, Liam Moyer, and Cole Green, attended the FFA National Conference in Indianapolis. Students left Wednesday, November 1 to travel to the conference and returned on Sunday, November 5. Students from both the Garden Plain and Andale FFA Chapters enjoyed the event.
Students were excited to attend the convention, and freshman Cole Green shared, “I was just excited to be out of the state and in a big city I’ve never been in.” In order to attend the convention, FFA members had to fill out a resume and meet additional requirements. At the conference, members participated in different activities that taught them more about FFA, but the group also did activities that didn’t involve FFA like going to a trampoline park and ziplining.
Green enjoyed the trip and said, “It was really fun, we went to a trampoline park. My favorite part of the trip was getting to meet new people. We took pictures with people in their FFA jackets. We also visited different booths that had colleges and businesses that related to FFA.” Green’s favorite booth to visit was the Army booth.
Green shared why others should join FFA and participate in events like the National Conference, “I would tell them if they have the opportunity they should take it. It’s really fun and you learn a lot.”
