The Andale Community Foundation has now been ongoing for the past three years. The Foundation helps out families in need, donates to struggling businesses and even hosts summer and spring events such as Andale’s Famous Summer Fest.
The idea of the Community Foundation began back in 2020, when the city pool was being threatened to close down. Due to Covid regulations the city pool was worried they wouldn’t generate enough funds to keep the doors open to the pool. The community members of Andale wanted their children to be able to have fun and pointed out that Colwich had their own respective community foundation. So they decided to create their own.
ACF (Andale Community Foundation) generates their money from funding of the Andale’s firework stand, Andale apparel, as well as generous sponsors. Their biggest fundraiser throughout the year is their firework stand. One of the Foundation’s most recent event was delivering 17 military packages for local people who are still active within their respective military branches.
As you may have noticed this summer the recent addition within the city limits of Andale were the Andale City Park’s sidewalks. This project costed roughly $26,000. With the new addition of the sidewalk, individuals can now push strollers, ride their bikes and make it more handicap accessible for all.
Another benefit of the ACF is the opportunity to apply for a scholarship. Andale High School students can go to the Andale High School office for an application. The scholarship is earned through the top three essay’s that show how Andale has shaped them both now and in the future. As of now ACF currently has a full board, but they are looking for four new board members in the upcoming year of 2025, so if you’re interested then give Jill Mize a call.
