Mark your calendars for this year’s Wichita Riverfest! May 31st- June 8th Wichita invites you to the biggest festival in Kansas. Riverfest is one of the longest-running festivals in the state, celebrating their 52nd year.

Riverfest ticket sales rank in the top 50 of Pollstar’s Top 100 Outdoor Festival Sites worldwide, so get your tickets right when they go on sale.

One thing Riverfest is known for is the live music, on Saturday they usually have 2-3 different artists playing outside. This year’s big artist is Hunter Hayes. Hayes is a five time Grammy nominee and won the 2012 CMA Award for New Artist of the Year and three BMI Awards. He specializes in country music and can play 30 different instruments.  Kool & the Gang is the other hit band playing this weekend. Kool & the gang is an R&B soul and fund band that has been playing for over 50 years. They won one Grammy in 1986 for “Best Inspirational Performance”.

Another big hit for Riverfest is the annual River Run. The river run is for all ages and a mile long race for your friends and family. All ages are allowed to participate and you can walk or run. Fun and bright clothes are encouraged for this exciting race. Along with these big hits, there will be lots of events all week long. A big carnival, hot air balloons, helicopter rides, food courts, paddle boats, kayaks, canoes, and so much more. Wichita’s Riverfest is a perfect place to bring your family or friends and have fun. Riverfest has been around since 1972 and has only improved since then.
