Lucille Strunk is a very familiar face for the St. Mark’s community. Ms. Lucille, as the students call her, has been working as a secretary for St. Marks for 26 years.
“Ms. Lucille is a pillar of St. Mark’s,” said one of her fellow employees.” You tow the line with her, that is for sure. But, Ms. Lucille also has lots of love for our kids.” According to Ms. Lucille, her favorite part of her job is all of the kids that go to school there, so her coworker was right.
Ms. Lucille ended up at St. Mark’s after the secretary before her didn’t like using the computer. She started volunteering in the mornings while her youngest son was in preschool, and did all the computer work for her and she loved every minute of it. Before that, Ms. Lucille was a stay at home mom for nine years, and prior to that, she was a production manager and HR person for a local decal company. While she is not at school, Ms. Lucille volunteers at Church and at St. Theresa Hospital. She also likes to bake and spend time with her family.
Although she has been through some challenges at St. Mark’s, such as all of the changes that have taken place this year, Ms. Lucille still makes the most out of every day, and there’s no doubt that she cannot wait to return bright and early for the next school day!
