Renwick Student, Noah Reichenberger Beats Cancer

Renwick+Student%2C+Noah+Reichenberger+Beats+Cancer

Noah Reichenberger, a freshman at Andale High school, had cancer and beat it. Noah had Burkitt’s lymphoma, one of the most aggressive cancers in the world, it doubles in a day. The symptoms of Burkitt’s lymphoma are: fever, unexplained weight loss, fatigue, pain in the abdomen, nausea and vomiting. The only symptom he said he had was his stomach hurting (pain in the abdomen), he thought it was nothing, but it wouldn’t go away.

When Noah figured out he had cancer he was confused and didn’t really understand and just kept moving forward. The treatment involves lots of needles and is very expensive. Luckily Noah’s family had insurance otherwise just scans and treatment would cost a lot of money.

While he had cancer the people in and around Renwick started a fundraiser for Noah and his family. People in school would also sell bracelets that said “Team Noah” and then gave the money made to Noah’s family. Most of his friends also cut their hair as short as possible for Noah when we all figured out he had cancer. He said he thought it was awesome that the whole community came together and tried to help him and support him.

When Noah finally beat cancer he said he was excited that he beat it, but even more excited to go home. Noah also said he was excited to tell his friends about beating cancer. When everyone found out he beat it everyone was happy for him and all of his friends met him in the Andale park to congratulate him. Noah still does go for checkups every six months but the results have continued to improve every time.

This is my first year in Renwick Review. I go to Andale High School as a freshman, I play football and will go out for track and field this spring. The people that inspire me to work hard are the people around me. I like Renwick because of the great community, teachers, students, parents and more; Its just an amazing place to be.
