Mrs. McGinnis’s Ag Classroom

McGinnis is an Ag teacher at Andale High school. In the school year 2023 McGinnis was a student teacher for Cheyenne Holliday, when Holliday moved back to Arkansas, her home state, McGinnis took over Holliday’s class room for the 2023-2024 school year. This is McGinnis’ first year at Andale High and she is enjoying her time working with her students.

I asked McGinnis why she decided to teach at Andale and she said, “I fell in love with the school and the community. Andale is a great place to work”. Some of the classes that McGinnis teaches are, intro to ag, animal science, ag communications and leadership, and ag mechanics.

McGinnis is an FFA Advisor, she helps guide her students within FFA. As well as correspond with the FFA officers and help them plan events. McGinnis’ days seem to be pretty busy. She always has someone walking in her classroom asking to borrow something. They also do hands-on learning activities.

When doing FFA events McGinnis takes her students to competitions. Her students have competed at roughly 15 competitions this school year. McGinnis’ has had a student or multiple students place in the top 10 at every competition. If she recalls correctly, they have walked away with a plaque at 75% of the competitions they have been to. All of her students work hard to do well at the contests.

Thank you Mrs. McGinnis for all that you’ve done for our Ag and FFA programs!
