Spring Fishing In Sedgwick County

Spring is one of the best seasons for fishing. The temperatures start to warm up meaning the fish are more aggressive. Kansas fishing is very underrated, there are plenty of great fishing spots around the Wichita area. The types of game fish in the Wichita area are, large mouth bass, white crappie, black crappie, channel catfish, blue catfish, wiper, white bass, walleye, and small mouth bass. There are plenty of fish to catch here are where you can find them.

Buffalo park is one of the best spots to fish in the Wichita area. It is located on Maize Rd and Maple. If you are a bass fisherman this is a good spot for you.

This pond is home to a bunch of large mouth bass. There are also blue catfish, channel catfish, blue gill, and black crappie. The best way to catch bass out of this pond is using a spinner bait in deeper parts of the pond.

Emery Park pond is another great fishing location in the Wichita area. Many people come here for the big large mouth bass that are caught out of the pond. This pond is home to large mouth bass, channel catfish, blue catfish, white crappie, and black crappie. The best way to catch bass out of this pond is by using a top water bait.

Some of the best cat-fishing around the Wichita area are in deep parts of Cheney lake, lake Afton, or in deep parts of the Ninnescah river. There are massive catfish luring in the depths of these waters the only challenge is getting them to bite. Most anglers like to use blue gill chunks to try to catch these monsters. Some people use live bait, but this is only for flat head catfish.

There are plenty of places that hold many fish in the Wichita area. You just need to look around and try fishing what’s around you. You may be surprised what you’ll be able to find. Sometimes even in the smallest pool of water fish can be living in it. Whether you like to bass fish, or crappie fish, or cat fish, the Wichita area has something for you.
