Goals that Fisher Lumber looks to achieve are to grow in a reasonable fashion and to continue to exceed customers needs and expectations. According to Kendall Fisher, “We’ve added new products and services throughout the years to help us grow and satisfy customers’ needs. From adding our own door shop where we can build custom pre-hungs, to moving showroom locations here recently to a smaller location more suited for us. We are very aware that we must keep up with the changing times and be willing to adapt with them.”
What started as a vision, is now a resilient business. Vance Fisher, after serving his country in World War II, worked as the manager of the Comley Lumberyard for many years. Vince and Marjorie Fisher bought the yard on Main Street in Garden Plain and started Fisher Lumber Company in 1955. It improved from there, and he outgrew the original location and built the existing building on 30010 W. Harry St. in Garden Plain. He included his last name in the business, making it Fisher Lumber. Fisher Lumber is so much more than just a lumber company, they are a helpful and reliable friend to the community. The Renwick Review staff would like to thank Fisher Lumber for the sponsorship.
