I began teaching at Andale High School in 2016 after an extent of coaching college volleyball and teaching at the community college level. One of my unique attributes is that I'm a Renwick graduate (Garden Plain '10) and now teach within the same district only at Andale now.

A little back story about what led to Renwick Review...in 2016 we kick started our new College & Career Program at Andale & Garden Plain High School. One of the big features within this program was students get the opportunity to intern out in the real world. After completing the first year of our internship program we decided to add in a project capstone piece. This was an opportunity for the student to give back in some shape or form.

In 2018 I had two interns partner up Kendall Rau & Logan Martin. Rau interned with Wichita Thunder while Martin interned with a marketing firm Hexcode Designs. They brought their powers together and formed a weekly sports talk show called "The Tribe". From there we began growing the project which eventually led me to teaching "Sports & Entertainment Marketing" a class that wasn't offered at AHS up until 2018. From there we began producing sports and entertainment material throughout AHS. Eventually we grew 800+ followers on our social media platforms and generated content over every sport.

In 2022 I knew we needed to continue to "grow" and began looking for the next step. Upon research I ran upon "OneMaizeMedia" a student run news organization through the Maize Career Academy just down the road from us. With the help of Mr. O'Banion at the Maize Career Academy we were able to set up an educational field trip for our "Tribe" students at AHS. Once we were there it was a very obvious WOW, this is our "next step". After returning the students and I began brainstorming and starting the "next steps". We converted a room in at AHS dedicated specifically as a recording studio, began building a new website and transitioning to our reveal of "Renwick Review". Even our organization name was created by a student (Sydney Waltner)! With the help of some Perkins Funds we were able to kick start our site which led to our "next step" of combining our Andale and Garden Plain High School students to collaborate. With the help of Ms. Clark at Garden Plain High School and our 8th grade courses I teach as intros we now have a total of 41 Renwick Review students who contribute on a weekly basis.
