Renwick Golf Team’s First Drive

Renwick+Golf+Teams+First+Drive

Renwick’s varsity golf team had their first meet April 1st at Crestview Country Club in Wichita. The men’s varsity team consists up to six men between Andale and Garden Plain. The men making up the Renwick varsity golf team are Sam Kuepker, Tyler Hinton, Ryan Brasser, Jackson Bell, Max Mcgregor and Tate Nelson.  The boys ended up placing 10th overall from a team standpoint with a score of 354.

This is Sam’s 2nd year golfing and has been on the varsity team both years.  Golf is Sam’s favorite sport and he enjoys playing it with his family and friends. Sam shot a 93 individually placing 65th.

Tyler Hinton has been on the golf team for three years and has been on varsity every year. Tyler’s best score was a 77 at regionals last year at Hesston. Tyler shot a 84 individually placing 33rd.

Ryan Brasser has been on the team since his freshman year but only been on varsity his sophomore and junior seasons. When asked why Brasser likes to golf he said “His sister was so good at it, and he likes being out playing with the boys”. Ryan shot a 99 placing 79th.

Jackson Bell has been on the golf team for 2 years now and has been a very good varsity player each year. When asked how he got so good at golf? Jackson responded with “For me I would hit a bunch of shots in my yard everyday for about a couple of months and then everything just fell in place”. Jackson shot a 90 and tied for 53rd.

The Renwick golf team is coming off a very good team last year after a good 4A state tournament at Quail Ridge Golf Course in Winfield. This year the team is hoping to place better this year after placing 6th as a team last year. This years 4A state tournament is going to be held in McPherson at the Turkey Creek Golf Course on May 20th though the 21st.

Sam Harp
I am involved in sports including football, basketball, and track. The thing I appreciate most from Renwick is the support for sports. This is my first year in Renwick Review. Some people that inspire me to achieve success are my friends because they support everything I do. My favorite sports team is the Kansas State Wildcats.
