    Hurricane Hilary

    Hurricane+Hilary

Hurricane Hilary was a category 4 hurricane with wind speeds up to 130 mph. It was the first hurricane to hit Southern California since 1939. Hurricane Hillary made landfall in Mexico and destroyed everything, including Southern California, Nevada, Montana, Idaho, and Oregon. It flooded many cities, roads, and houses. It broke many records for rainfall, dropping more than twice the average in some states.

It closed Death Valley National Park indefinitely, dropping a year’s worth of rain in one day. It got downgraded to a post-tropical storm after it hit Southern California and was making its way to Nevada. There has not been a confirmed number of deaths, but we know that there has been at least one death caused by Hurricane Hilary.

Many have been rescued with the help of first responders. Hurricane Hillary started about a week ago and has now stopped. The flash flood warnings California’s Gov. Gavin Newsom issued have been called off. Tropical Storm Hilary gave southern California its first tropical storm watch of all time. Many cities had to evacuate.

    Cooper, Middle School Renwick Review
I'm an 8th grader at Colwich Elementary School. This is my first year with Renwick Review. When I'm not at school I enjoy playing with my dogs and hanging out with my friends. I like Renwick because it has great staff members that will never give up on you, no matter what you've done they will be there for you. I've always been inspired by Tyreek Hill because football has always been my favorite sport and he was a star receiver on the Chiefs. Now Hill plays for the Miami Dolphins in Florida with his QB Tua Tagovalioa. Receiver is my favorite position in football to play and I've always wanted to be like him.
